One of our friends offered to do the engagement session as gift to us, can we cut the engagement session from our collection?
To put it bluntly, no, you cannot cut the engagement session from your collection. The engagement session is absolutely essential for us to figure out how we work together. It allows you to be more comfortable infront of me, to understand my shooting style, and directions. Which then, on your wedding day, when there's so much more pressure and time constraints will allow us to work effortlessly together. You'll understand what I'm saying when I pose you, and all of those jitters of being in front of the camera, feeling uncomfortable, etc. will have already been washed away. Plus, your engagement session will allow me to capture you in your element. We will brainstorm and discover a truly special location for the shoot which will add so much more passion and connection between you and your images.
What should we wear for the engagement session?
Most importantly, wear something you're comfortable in, something you feel good when wearing. Feeling comfortable will only add that much more confidence to your images. If you're uncomfortable in the outfit, you'll constantly be worrying, tugging, and focusing on the outfit rather than enjoying the experience. Also, bring options. I always suggest clients to have at least 2, no more than 4 different ensembles. Layering and different textures are always great too.
How much time should we allot for photos on our wedding day?
Every wedding is different and every wedding day schedule is different. However, in order to create and capture breathtaking moments, we need time. As the old saying goes, Rome wasn't built in a day, and majestic images are of the same nature. We always work with our couples to design a perfectly mapped timeline of your wedding day, of which will allow us time to capture you, your fiance, your moments, your fairytale. Most couples allow us at least four hours of shooting time - while this isn't usually continuous, but broken down into segments throughout the day. We prefer to have at least two hours to capture bridal portraits, the groom portraits, and finally together, as a couple. These two hours, in the grand scheme of things is a minute glimpse of your whole day, so we prefer to capture this with just the two of you, secluded, where you can thoroughly admire your time together without being pulled in a million different directions.
Do most couples add additional sides to their wedding album design?
Yes! On the average, most couples end up adding at least 30 additional sides to their wedding album. The wedding album is designed with such an emphasis on retelling your wedding day step.by.step. To leave any part of your day out simply just does not tell your story. This album that is designed specifically for you, serves as the only tangible product that allows you to relive your wedding day for eternity. Imagine after just a year of marriage, curling up on your couch with your favorite beverage (whether that may be a nice, warm cup of coffee or a glass of wine) and completely getting to relive your wedding day.... The day you and your best friend became one...the day you married your one true love. You'll get to revist all of the emotions that were occuring - the anxiousness, the happiness, the laughter, and even the tears. This exact book will become one of your most valued possessions. It will serve as a link to the past for many years to come; And someday your children and even grandchildren will be able to sit down with you, possibly on that very same couch, and reminisce your on-going fairytale that life has given you.
